BELIZE AT EXPO DUBAI 2020
Each year the Bureau International des Expositions gather nations across the globe for a world expo. The gatherings are dedicated to “finding solutions to pressing challenges of our time by offering a journey inside a universal theme engaging and immersive activities”.
Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first World Expo ever hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region. This mega event will be held from October 1st, 2021 to March 31st, 2022 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates under the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. It is anticipated that the event will host 191 participating countries and each will have their own pavilion under one of the three theme districts mainly Mobility, Sustainability and Opportunity showcasing best examples of collaboration and innovation.
Belize will be featured in the Opportunity district showcasing three further themes: people, place and products. Visitors to the pavilion will learn of Belize’s history, cultural diversity, touristic attractions, investment opportunities, products and much more!

PEOPLE
Belize showcases its culture by a sense of elements that expresses emotions and diversities of its people through different cultural outfits in Belize. Belize has a diverse group of people who call this country home but the main ethnic groups in Belize are the Creole, Metizos, East Indians, Mennonites, Garifuna and Mayans who still strongly practice their ritual beliefs. In Belize’s pavilion you will get a sense of these rich cultures through images, videos and music. These monuments of spiritual temples and videos of food making, spiritual rituals, events and practices of the different cultures are just a glimpse of Belize’s iconic indigenous cultures.

This multi-year plan is being implemented as a part of a set of resolutions developed with UNESCO for the safeguarding of Belize’s intangible cultural heritage. PLACE
Belize continues to evolve into the top recreational and adventure destination within the Caribbean region and its attractiveness continues to be recognized by its local and international market. Belize is seen as a small country with big adventures in archaeology, backpacking, beaches and coast, birding, ecotourism, hiking and other cultural emersion activities.
The Belize Barrier Reef sits just miles off the coast of Belize and is part of the larger Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, second in size only to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Home to hundreds of species of coral and fish, it is a hot spot for divers, snorkelers and biologists from all over the world. “Belize will be selling a variety of its national products; those that are exporting, export ready and near export ready and has some level of uniqueness, such as: juices, pepper sauces, jams and jellies, cacao chocolates, rums and liquors, hair and skin products and grains, just to name a few. By doing this, it will present an opportunity for visitors of the booth to garner some investment interests and export potential for those Belizean companies that produces said products.”
